Running with the ball is essentially tapping the ball forward so that it stays in front of you as you run. When starting out, you might find it helpful to start by walking with the ball.
Key concepts
- Control the direction of the ball when you tap it forward (use the top of your foot (laces), with your toe pointing downward to tap the ball)
- Don’t kick the ball too far – you want to run with the ball, you don’t want to chase the ball
- Take 2-3 steps between each tap forward
- Keep you head up, so you can see where you are going, and if there are any obstacles (like opposition players)
